Nitin and family,
While I only know Nitin well and have met his family, I want to express my hearfelt sympathy on the loss of such an important woman to so many of you. Because I know Nitin, I know how much love you all have shown for each other on this hard journey. I am confident she was a beuatiful person and touched many lives in a sweet and positive way. She will live on in your thoughts and memories of her life and her gifts.
While your hearts are heavy with sorrow, please know lots of people are ready to support you. I will continue to pray for your healing and strength for the days ahead.

If there is such a thing as a 'work soulmate,' that's what Shifali was to me. She used to tell me I was like her 'big sis,' which warmed my heart. I knew what she meant. She was smart, funny, straight-forward, unpretentious, with the best disguised will of iron I have ever seen (I'm sure her family knows it well!). And even when our daily/weekly chats included more about life and death than is right or fair, she remained very 'Shifali.'
I know that the loss of a friend and colleague does not begin to match the hole that she leaves as a wife, mother, daughter, sister….my heart grieves for you all. And I miss her very much.
